One dedicated ophthalmology team for all your child’s eye care needs

Our ophthalmology team provides everything from prescribing corrective lenses to performing complex ocular surgeries. Eye conditions vary for each child and our team is prepared to provide the best care no matter how common or rare your child’s medical eye condition may be. Our physicians play multiple roles on our team and many are specialized in treating specific conditions.

Pediatric ophthalmologists

Our pediatric ophthalmologists provide some of the best medical care for children with eye conditions. In addition to diagnosing and treating common conditions, some members of our pediatric ophthalmology team specialize in specific types of care related to parts of the eye like the retina or specific conditions like glaucoma.

Ophthalmological surgeons

Many of our pediatric ophthalmologists are also surgeons that are very well trained in performing surgery to correct eye conditions. This includes eye surgeons that specialize in oculoplastics, which is surgery focused on the structure of the eye.

Neuro-ophthalmologists

Some of our ophthalmologists specialize in neuro-ophthalmology, which focuses on visual problems related to the nervous system or how messages are sent from the brain throughout the body. This can include vision affected by a brain injury or an injury to the optic nerve, which connects our eyes to our brain.

Pediatric optometrists

Our optometrists provide comprehensive eye care including routine vision checks, and prescriptions for glasses, contact lenses or other medications for specific eye problems.

Ocular geneticists

Sometimes, eye conditions can be genetic or inherited, meaning it can be passed down from other family members or can be a spontaneous diagnosis. The Ocular Genetics Program includes genetic physicians and genetic counselors who work together alongside our ophthalmology team to help diagnose genetic conditions involving the eye.
