Clinical Pathways

What are Clinical Pathways?

Clinical pathways assist clinicians in standardizing the evaluation, diagnosis, and care of patients with specific conditions, with the goal of achieving optimal outcomes. They translate national guidelines and the best available evidence for clinical application into local context. Clinical pathways are used to inform decision-making at the point of care, to train new clinicians on evidence-based practice, and to support continuous improvement.1
