Children’s Hospital Colorado is committed to giving you the tools you need to help plan for your child’s visit. One of the ways we do this is by providing a cost estimate shortly after you make an appointment.
After you have made your appointment and our team has reviewed your insurance details, we will send your cost estimate to you via text, email and MyChart. This estimate will give you an idea of how much your services might cost based on your insurance. You can also request a cost estimate at anytime via our online tool or reach out to our cost estimate team Monday through Friday.

How to request a cost estimate from CU Medicine
Children's Colorado cost estimates do not include the services that will be provided by the doctor that you see at our hospital. This is because our doctors are employed by University of Colorado Medicine, not Children’s Colorado. You will need to request a separate cost estimate from CU Medicine.
To request an estimate from CU Medicine, please call their patient estimate line at 303-493-7061 or email PatientEstimates@cumedicine.us.
For patients with public insurance
Note that if you have the following coverages, there is no need to call for a cost estimate:
- Primary or secondary Medicaid coverage
- Tricare (contact Tricare directly for fee-schedule cost estimate)
- CHP+ (the patient's responsibility is a copay only)
For patients without insurance (self pay)
Patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using their insurance have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much medical care will cost. This applies to appointments that are scheduled three or more days in advance. Upon scheduling your procedure or service, Children’s Colorado will send you a Good Faith Estimate in writing. If you have any questions about your Good Faith Estimate or the amounts billed, please contact the patient cost estimate specialists at 720-777-0720 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or through email anytime.
